Arts and Culture Award

The arts play an important role in celebrating cultural diversity within the Strathfield community. With a strong tradition of artists, poets and writers, this award recognises and encourages young people to demonstrate creativity, commitment and excellence in the arts.

Science and Technology Award

Strathfield is a place where many talented young people are pushing the boundaries of knowledge in science and technology. Young people play an important role locally and globally in innovation. This award recognises their outstanding achievements in scientific discovery and technological advancement.

Community Service Award

Strathfield enjoys a tradition of active involvement of the community in a wide range of volunteer activities. Young people are increasingly involved in community service and their contribution to the community has become invaluable. Any young person involved in community service, volunteer activities, or organisations in the Strathfield area is eligible for this category.

Environmental Award

Strathfield values environmental sustainability, with many in the community contributing to conservation and environmental initiatives. Young people are increasingly involved in protecting and caring for the environment, and their efforts make a meaningful impact. This category is open to any young person involved in environmental or sustainability activities within the Strathfield area.

Sports Award Junior 12-15 years old

For many young people, sport is an excellent avenue for showcasing their talents. This category is open to young sportspeople who are actively participating in their chosen sport and have achieved significant results. Strathfield comprises many schools, sporting clubs, and associations that actively participate in sports. This category is open to individuals aged 12-15 years.

Sports Award Senior 16-25 years old

For many young people, sport is an excellent avenue for showcasing their talents. This category is open to young sportspeople who are actively participating in their chosen sport and have achieved significant results. Strathfield comprises many schools, sporting clubs, and associations that actively participate in sports. This category is open to individuals aged 16-25 years.

Team Sports Award

For many young people, sport is an excellent avenue for showcasing their talents. This category is open to sporting teams who are actively participating in their chosen sport and have achieved significant results. Strathfield comprises many schools, sporting clubs, and associations that actively participate in sports. This category is open to teams.

Roy Ellis Shield

Roy Ellis was a great sportsman and a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Strathfield. This shield is awarded to the Outstanding Sportsperson of the Year, at the discretion of the judging panel, and may be awarded to a recipient who has already won in one of the other sports categories.

President's Award

This award recognises work or encourages achievement in fields not covered by other categories and is awarded at the discretion of the judging panel.

What is Vocational Excellence Award?

The Strathfield Rotary Club Vocational Excellence Awards is an acknowledgement of an individual’s achievement, commitment and ability to inspire their fellow employees or customers. It is recognition of employees who have made significant workplace contributions, outstanding workmanship, positive and constructive attitude to employment, high quality of service, generous work, selfless dedication, professionalism, and commitment to improving the community. 

What are important dates?

Strathfield Rotary Club Vocational Excellence Awards will be held in the Event Centre Strathfield Golf Club 52 Weeroona Rd, Strathfield NSW on 15 October 2025. Nomination must be received by 23th September 2025. Finalists will be advised by 30 September 2025
